We are here to help
The amount of homework will vary per course.
If you are completing a Nationally Recognised Qualification the estimated homework hours will be stated in you course information booklet. For one day short courses there will be no homework. For language courses there will be roughly 1 hour a week of homework or more if you choose.
For Nationally Recognised Qualifications you are required to attend at least 75% of your classes. Missing days can result in falling behind so we highly recommend attending all sessions if possible.
For short courses we recommend attending at least 75% of your classes to ensure you get the most out of your course.
There is no work placement required for short courses.
Depending on The Nationally Recognised Qualification you are completing there may be some work placement involved – such as Childcare. This will be listed in your course information booklet along with the amount of hours that is required.
MTPD cannot guarantee a job after you complete a course as MTPD is not a recruitment agency.
Completing a qualification in a certain area may make you eligible to apply for a wider range of roles you were previously not qualified for.
We recommend students be 16 years old or older. We understand some students younger than this may be interested and may be able to enrol after discussion with your parent / guardian.
Students must be at least 16 years old to complete RSA and 18 years old to use the qualification for work (You must be 18 or above to serve alcohol).
All materials are included in your course fees and you are not required to buy any additional materials.
If you are enrolled in AUSLAN, we recommend you purchase an AUSLAN dictionary or download an app – although this is not required.
Students completing short courses are not eligible for a student ID card.
Students completing Nationally Recognised Qualifications may be eligible for a MTPD student ID card depending on the length of their course.
Re-prints of certificates will incur a $22 fee.
It is recommended that you enrol at least one week prior to course commencement as some courses fill up quickly. This will ensure you are enrolled in the course on your preferred date.
There are no additional costs for the course once you have paid your fees unless you require one of the following:
- Transfer Fee: $35
- Refund Fee: $300
- Certificate Re-Print Fee: $22
- Assessment Extension Fee: $30 per unit
For courses with fees over $1,000 we do offer a direct debit payment plan – there is no set up cost involved. If a transaction is not able to be processed there may be a dishonour fee.

If marked competent, your certificate will either be ready for collection or posted within five working days.
For Nationally Recognised Certificates, your certificate will be ready for collection or to be posted, four weeks after your final unit has been completed and marked as competent.
